Santa Lucia Day

Every year I've made sure we celebrate Santa Lucia day. Click here to see last year's and here to read about our first celebration. I just love that Lucia stood her ground and knew that doing what God asked of her was more beneficial than the husband with the right pedigree. It's an inspiring story.

In the 4 years I've lived in Hawaii we haven't done a Christmas picture on the beach. So before we went swimming earlier in the month, ie the last post, we took some photos of Danya all dressed up in her Santa Lucia dress.

Here she is with the candle to light her way. She's not overly into posing for Momma.
This one is about as cute as it got for an actual looking at the camera pose, and you'll notice she was distracted by the water.

This, however, is my favorite shot. It's a candid, but I love that it shows her toddler style bandaid owie, and the movement. I just love it. She was saying take it off! Because she wanted to go swimming.
