Clothing Sizes

Many of you have heard me complain about the clothing gap. I need a size 16 1/2 okay so not really but I am in the gap between the plus size department and the regular department. I loved being pregnant because the clothes all fit right. They were big enough in the chest and yet still fit right without looking like a tent. Well this post isn't really about me although it is nice to know that clothing is a problem at all ages even when you are 9 months old. Danya is so long in the body, taking after the Hayes women, that she is now securely in a size 12 month even though she is only 9 months old. She is also in a size 4 diaper because she was starting to look like a beer belly old man. In order to get the diaper to cover her butt it was very low in the front. Oh well no one sees that when you have clothes on except that she sleeps on her tummy and gravity likes to create leaks. When we had all of those baby showers Danya was gifted with a lot of clothes up through 9 months most probably figured that they would buy 12 month stuff for her birthday. That's not going to work. She will need at least 18 month stuff by that point. So if you are planning ahead, buy big. Thanks to the Grandma's and our friends Noe and her daughter Amelia who have helped fill the gaps in Danya's wardrobe. It is actually a nice change to not have to juggle quite so much clothing. Her wardrobe is still larger than mine, but it is closer. I actually got to buy her the first outfit from us. It was footed sleepers for my wiggle worm. She just will not stay in one place at night. I figure it's because we swaddled her, and now that she can move she runs the 500 meter dash in her sleep.
