More Butterfly Adventures

As you all remember we have been raising catapillars as our summer "science" activity. We started with 4  but one day when we plucked a leaf for these really hungry catapillars we got another teeny one. So then we had 5.
They are kind of boring in 2 year old world when they form their chrysalis'. But we waited and waited and then some amazing things happened.
We saw our first butterfly emerge! It was fun to just stare at him for quite a while, and then when he got restless we went outside to let him out.
Momma helped pick him up and put him right on Danya's finger. He didn't stay long when Momma let go of his wings.
The next one was a bit more cooperative. Danya thought it tickled, and she was soo exited when it flew away.
Seems like every morning we have another butterfly ready to take off.
This morning the butterfly must not have been all the way ready to leave, because he just stayed on her finger, and as you can tell, she didn't like that very much. Especially when it flapped but didn't go anywhere.
So Momma moved him to a safe place to wait until he was ready to go. It didn't take long and he flew off too. We still have 2 more waiting to emerge, so I'm sure there will be more butterfly stories.
