Birthday Parties!

Danya has lots of little friends turning 3 this month. We had our first party this weekend and it was a blast! It was a Dora the Explorer party with really cool sombrero's as party hats. It didn't stay on long enough for a better picture until much later and by then I had put the camera away.
Of course we must hit the Pinata! We got lots of candy to bring home, a fact which Danya was every so glad about. With toddlers though pinatas take on a whole new dimention. None of them wanted to hit the donkey very hard, Yay! That means we've all done a great job teaching them not to hit things with sticks or bats. So the Daddys had to help beat the candy out of them. Then there was a ton of candy on the ground and the toddlers each grabbed one they knew they could open and walked away to eat it and didn't return until that candy was gone. So Mommas and Daddys picked up their favorites. hehehe.
Then there was cake! Or in Danya's case FROSTING! She licked that piece clean but wouldn't bite the cake to save her life.

She also loved helping her little friend break in her new gardening set, before they returned to burn off all that sugar in the ...
Bouncy House!
Whew! What a day! We stayed at the party until her usual wake up time from nap, and still had to do battle to get her back into the car. The whole way home she kept telling us to say Happy Birthday. We got home she gathered her nap essencials and went right down for nap. An hour later I tried to wake her up so that she would sleep at night.
I got her up and she walked about 3 feet outside her door where she lay back down in the hallway and fell back asleep for another hour. I just didn't have the heart to wake her up when she couldn't even walk 3 feet. The good news is she still went right to sleep and with the exception of needing to be put back in her room at 2am she slept pretty good. It was a lot of fun!
