New Friends

We've been hanging out with our immediate neighbor for a while now, but about a month ago we met 2 more families with little ones a few more houses down the block. One of the families is very generous. It feels like we never leave without some gift for Danya. It's so funny because we go out in front of our house to wait for Daddy in the evenings but now everytime we go out front someone thinks we are going to nena's house. (Not her real name but that's what Danya calls her.) Last week when we stopped by "nena" gave Danya a little tuutuu that her grandma had made. The mom said she has several and when they were cleaning she told her daughter to give a few away to her friends. So Danya got one. She wears it all the time. As soon as she sees it in the morning it goes on. I've taken to hiding it if we are going somewhere, like out to eat or whatever. The other morning I got these silly photos of her in her "nena" skirt. Ofcourse then she wanted to go visit "nena" and her brother. ("nena's" brother likes Danya too, but he is closer to Danya in age and they tend to want the same toys, thus some conflict.) Notice the sanding by the door trying to get it open. Thankfully she hasn't figured that trick out yet. One of the previous physical therapists wanted us to work on that, but I said no. She'll get it all too soon. I did realize today though that it is time to buy one of the door handle covers for her room because she was fiddling with the lock. That would be bad. There isn't a way to unlock it from outside her room.
