Happy New Year!

New Year in Honolulu is amazing. It's quite loud. The story goes that the Chinese were the first large immigrant population that came to Hawaii, with them they brought fireworks. That combined with our mild tropical climate it is rather crazy. This is a time lapse video I found on Youtube from last year.

In an environment were fireworks are everywhere it seemed only fitting that we give Danya a little exposure to fireworks so that we can foster a healthy respect for fireworks. Thanks to our neighbors who invited us over to enjoy their fireworks, Danya watched Nysha do a sparkler type Danya got a chance to try. Here is her video. She gets distracted part way through by the boys across the street who were a bit of pyromaniacs. Notice the laugh.

After her sparkler was done she wanted to hold onto another one. When the time came for her bath and bed time I had to take it away. You would have thought I injured her she just wanted to hold it all night. She loved to watch it all. It was a fun night. Here are some big ones that came up above the neighbors house across the street.

The smoke tonight is crazy with all of the fireworks in the neighborhood.
