On the road to NE

Our first stop of the day was in Iowa. This barn shaped rest area had a little gift shop upstairs as well as really nice bathrooms downstairs. A few years ago when I used to travel to Iowa to teach at hidden acres christian center it was a very large looking barn right inside the border. Now they have built a casino right next to the rest area that has an even larger barn. It makes this one look like a storage barn. It was a little odd to see that change.

Naturally following this pose infront of the barn it was required to take a few tourist shots infront of the historical information sign.

We also took the time to talk to the trees. Danya loves trees. When she gets really crabby we always take her outside. Nature seems to have a very calming effect on her. She also loves the wind. Here she in enjoying both.
Danya was just happy to be out of the car, she was none to pleased when it was time to get back in the car. She made the 5.5 hour trip very well. The last hour were rough but the grown-ups were having the same problem with being cooped up. We were so excited to be at the hotel we walked to get dinner rather than getting back in the evil carseat.
