Just incase you are wondering

Which I know none of you really are, but I'm so flabbergasted that it worked that I have to share. I've heard all kinds of tricks for getting rid of the NUK. The Paci Fairy, the Easter bunny, throw them away... the list goes on. Well last week Wednesday I decided that was the day. We had just been to the dr the day before and Danya had another sinus infection and with her history the Dr. told us to prepare ourselves that when we meet with the specialist in a couple weeks she would most likely reccomend surgery to remove her adnoids and tonsils. That would not be a good time to drop the NUK habit so I made a choice. Wednesday was going to be the last day! I have said that before and always waffled. So to prevent that I tried a trick. I snipped just the tips of the NUK off. Once you do that they just suck air. "Broken" NUKs were no fun and certainly more of a hassle, and therefore undesireable. I let her have them, all 4 remaining NUKs, and she just lay there and stared at them. That nap was a bit rough but by bedtime she was accepting and didn't even whine for them. By the weekend she was back on schedule and completely NUK free. We kicked the NUK habit in one day! I'm pretty proud of myself for thinking of it and her for finding copeing mechanisms to make it work. Surpisingly enough in that day she grew up so much she doesn't even need her bear blanket to sleep either, she can use any of the umteen thousand plush toys that are crammed under her bed.

Incase you didn't notice it that was a plea for no more stuffed toys for Christmas.
