Birthday Part 2

On Danya's birthday we had a Church conference to attend on Maui so early birthday morning we got on a plane, the first one she had to have a real ticket for, and few over. We spent the morning and a good part of the afternoon at the conference but left feeling refreshed and ready for whatever God has in store for us. When we got back to Grandma's house there were gifts.
She loved ripping off the paper, especially if there was a toy inside. This package she only opened far enough to see that it was clothes and then it got thrown across the room and she went for the next one.
Part way through the opening of the gifts we had a light snack. Grandma had found these things called veggie straws. Think square straws like cheetos that were flavored with spinach, tomato, and potato. It's all dehydrated veggie powder and starch, fun and mostly healthy. Danya loved them and refused to open anymore gifts until the bowl was empty.
The grown ups had to do something in the mean time.... So since Danya was sporting such a cute bow look Mommy did too, and since Daddy had the camera there is photographic proof.
Grandma's kitty George, who is getting old, is such a good sport. Danya chased him all over the house. He also made a good distraction from gift opening.
Oooooh a baby! and she has a bottle! Our little caretaker has been really into her dolls again lately so she got all excited about this and insisted that it get opened right away.
So we took another break in the gift adventure to feed the baby, because as you know babies don't always have to be fed at the most convenient times.
Several of John's aunts sent stuff for Danya as well. It was a fun afternoon. Daddy and Danya had a lot of fun with a remote control car. They are sharing this toy for now.

Then after dinner it was time for Ice cream Cake! Danya separated the ice cream from the cake and ate mostly ice cream and frosting. And the flame is moving away from her because she is actually blowing on it. We may have to have a talk about blowing with our mouth and not our nose, but she was almost successful in blowing it out before her name in the song.
Then she decided the song was too long and just started sampling the frosting.
MMMMM!
Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Aida, Uncle Mike and Auntie Julie!
